Spanish Moss is not as prevalent at Freedom Park (or Naples, in general) as some places in the South, but it is evident in many of our natural environments. The mysterious nature of this epiphyte is widely envisioned through various legends!

It is an interesting subject....with its inter-woven nature (it is difficult to believe - though not often true - that it directly impacts the health of its 'host' tree) and its hanging stance... hmmm - is there a metaphor there? Freedom Park, Naples, FL
