Edge - when two things meet, and in turn, create energy! The frothy remains of wind generated waves hitting the shoreline document the edge between water and sand. Energy is also captured as movement in the egret's feet and talons as they connect and disconnect with the shoreline.
Just as a photograph needs 'edge' to create energy and our bodies need food for daily energy, learning also needs a source of energy for development and maintenance. The word that came to mind for me with this image was determination. But I would add passion, authenticity, real world issues, interest...
