Setting realistic and measurable goals is usually an important prelude for success, though not a guarantee. Inferred in those operational adjectives is that there will be step-by-step benchmarks, which will provide intermediaries of not only quests, but also achievements.   1. and sometimes you have to tack back and forth - lots of work to make progress. Learning isn't a straight line either.
