Rarely without a tennis ball or other toy, Phoenix shows 'dogged' determination! Not sure whether he thinks the goal is to break the ball or not, but he is always so focused and motivated when in his 'chewing mantra'! Now, how can we find the 'tennis balls' of excitement for our students? When can we rivet our learners so that little else around them matters? Naples, FL

  1. Nice picture, it's amazing how much fun they have with a simple tennis ball! Good luck with the students - sounds like you are looking for the Holy Grail...

  2. Enthusiasm, joy, being in the moment - I think dogs personify that. Children have much more complex lives than dogs. So many different hooks and so many issues to distract them. But hopefully we can transmit some of that joy and passion.
