Countdown to Christmas continues with five crèche pieces...

Most nativity scenes, depicting the birth of Jesus, have more pieces - three Kings, angels, camels, donkeys, and other barn animals. This one, depicting simplicity, is limited to Joseph, Mary, Jesus and two shepherds...but its meaning is just as complex. Though not a particularly religious person, I still sense the spiritual nature of this artistic expression - made in Mexico. Interestingly, according to Wikipedia, St. Francis Assisi is credited with creating the first nativity scene! Naples, FL
