The metal face of this pier piling is peeling away - it reminds me of the top of a metal can half-opened. The old and rusty edges slice through the image to reveal the reality of living near the water. In the blurred background (and in contrast), the yachts are docked awaiting their owners' desire to appreciate the recreational value of waterfront property. How vastly different, at least superficially - the utilitarian versus the aesthetic. It is fascinating to contemplate the differences...and consider the similarities. The City Dock, Naples, FL
