A collection of buttons - clear, colored, wooden, leather, some with shank and some without. Once kept around for a purpose (lest the loss of an original), now trivial lint collectors...still waiting for a chance to really shine.

I think we all have collections like this - just in case. The garments they were meant for are long gone. Still - you have managed to find a delightful purpose for them.
