This immature Bismarck Silver Palm (my absolute favorite palm variety!) tree trunk is covered with a convergence of old dead leaf/frond bases. The silvery blue-green fronds almost shimmer and the braided pattern allows for both a solid foundation and directional variety. Convergence is evident in our digital lifestyles with the mobility and ubiquity of 'smart phones' that provide communication, entertainment, information, geographical location, and organization. Once again, I find educational institutions generally ignoring the present state by compartmentalizing most opportunities (i.e., content, grades, classrooms, instruction) rather than integrating and converging. And, once again, I ask myself...are we really preparing our young people for their futures? Old Trail Dr & Parkshore Dr, Naples, FL

  1. Great textures in this image. As to education - I am afraid we are preparing students for the past not the future. Change is hard.
