This tree's 'heart' is exposed in more than one way - not only as an outline in the bark, but also in flaked internal structure. Its form also has a function - acting as a bird's nest in the spring! Unique and well-loved...except when it sheds its leaves and berries without cleaning up after itself! :) Naples, FL

  1. That's what we need - a tree that cleans up after itself! Is this tree on your property, Marie? I love the texture. What kind of berries grow on the tree?

  2. If the tree were living in a forest or anywhere away from civilization, its leaves and berries would be appreciated by the soil. Living in a place where trees shed many leaves in the fall, I can sympathize with your wish for tidier trees!
I love the image - trees opening their hearts to the wildlife that needs them.
