n one word, I can describe this as 'lunch',
but what about:

"An apple a day keeps the doctors away." - proverb (health)
The golden apple - education, excellence
Apple Macs - computers, business
“The apple does not fall far from the tree.” - proverb (science, genetics, psychology, behavior)
Forbidden fruit - religion (Bible, object of desire)
William Tell's arrow split apple - history (legend)
Sir Isaac Newton's apple - science (gravity)
"Apple of my eye" - love, affection (Shakespeare, Bible)
Johnny Appleseed's apple - agriculture (legend, conservation)
"American as apple pie" - culture

WOW - how did my lunch end up with so many diversified representations?

What else does an apple represent to you?

  1. It's amazing how education doesn't want to upset the apple cart. But to me - apples are autumn and crisp sunny days.
