A day late for Flag Day, but since President Obama has now declared National Flag Week, I'm still 'on time'! But proclamations aside, it is nice to be reminded of our freedom and democracy (or lack thereof) by virtue of where we live - in my case, the United States. The uprisings in Iran, as a result of the disputed Presidential elections, bring to heart the meaning of participatory government...and just as interesting, the power of social media - the impact of the internet and Twitter has influenced worldwide communication in this global event, uncensored by government or religion.
