Just before the rain clouds burst with a light rain, the golfers found shelter...leaving the course vacant. Though only a short barrier of shrubs, the golf course is really out of the reach for many residents. Fortunately, there are a variety of programs in our area to introduce golf to those who don't have ready access. Like so many sport development programs, learning golf is more than just 'learning golf' with plenty of value 'soft' skills (responsibility, perseverance, confidence, etc) tossed in as well. And what a coup it would be if learning the traditional subjects of literacy, math, science, and social studies was integrated into a round of golf. 7th Ave N & 3rd St, Naples, FL

  1. So often schools eliminate the subjects that inspire students (the arts, sports) instead of integrating the core subjects into the arts and sports. Get to kids where they might get excited about learning.
