Even though our campus is part high school and part post-secondary programs, we start them 'reading' in our Learning Partners early childhood program! These toddlers get wheeled around campus on a daily basis and will stop in to the Media Center every other day or so to 'read' a book. :) Of course, Eric Carle is a favorite.
Who knows what is really going on in his mind, since he can't self-report...but this reading activity is connected to increased communication development skills, strong pre-literacy skills, language mastery, development of focus and most of all, potential entertainment.
