The light was just right and the dragonfly stayed still for just the right amount of time to take this shot. Stationary on the tip of a bright orangy-yellow bromeliad, the jewel blue body is a lovely contrast...but the transparent and patterned wings are really fascinating. Apparently, their unique flight engineering may even yield efficient wind turbine design. Their ability to move in so many directions as well as to seemingly hover effortlessly makes them that more intriguing. They are often thought to symbolize change - deep, substantive, life-meaning change, not superficial - and so I will find encouragement in my lucky photographs of them this morning. 1. You couldn't have taken a more amazing photo if you had staged it! The jagged edge on the flower is so delicate and wonderfully caught!

  2. A really spectacular shot! The contrasting orange and blue colours, composition, detail and DOF are all spot-on!
