This banded sphinx moth has been hanging out all day - despite being attached to a door screen that has been opened and closed numerous times, it is stationary. It must need considerable rest, as even when nudged, it moves only slightly. The symmetrical patterns and greenish tones against the brown and tans make it quite interesting. Researching its name revealed even more colorful caterpillars from which it came...and apparently a pink area in the underwings - oh, the things we learn when we take the time to see through the camera lens!
