Unusual to see these white lilies blooming this time of year...they don't last long at all in the recent dry, heat wave though. But something in the environmental conditions (they are located on a street median, so no special garden TLC) has coaxed these buds open to share their beauty. Similarly, working with adolescents, who are often struggling with their position in the world, look for stability and nourishment in their environment - sometimes, they make it on their own...most often, they benefit from that TLC! 3rd Ave S. & 6th St, Naples, FL

These delicate bougainvilleas were begging to be photographed as I waited at a red light. Though not native to Florida, the bougainvillea is a very prolific addition to our landscapes - still, I never grow tired of them. It's funny how we adopt certain favorites for our comfort zone - whether it be music, food, people, activity, we tend to gravitate to something familiar with perceived security. So feel free to share one of your 'comforts'! Davis Blvd and U.S. 41 East, Naples, FL

Distraction from the wait at a long traffic light is always of added value when it fits the bill for something to brighten the end of another work week - this pair of 'birds' did the trick! Colorful and uplifting, these flowers appear to represent the antidote to anything negative - nature's beauty at its best...and a fine reward for my searching eye! Davis Blvd & US 41 E, Naples, FL
