A little colony of burrowing owls is located near friends' home on Marco Island. Generally, either my long-lens camera or the owls are missing, but this time both were around. These little guys are a bit unique for their species in that they nest underground (thus their name) and they are not nocturnal, but active during the day. They are also pretty small little guys and love to hide behind the tall grass on their 'property.' Not wanting to get to close and disturb them, my angle is not terribly good but will keep trying!
